Want to use your bookkeeping skills to help address the affordable housing crisis?

We’re hiring an experienced bookkeeper to work specifically with our housing related clients: a worker owned property management/real estate firm,  and the housing and real estate cooperatives within the PODER Emma cooperative ecosystem.

We invite you to apply if you’re excited about our values and you also:

  • Are profient/advanced in QuickBooks Online (eg, use classes and customers to categorize transactions and pull corresponding reports; create JEs; reconcile liability accounts)

  • Quickly identify and resolve errors

  • Compile accurate, customized financial statements (including cash flow projections)

  • Have excellent Excel/Google Sheets skills (eg, create formulas with functions; use data validation; create charts)

  • Are a systems thinker; if someone explains the information they need, you can create efficient processes in QBO or Google Sheets to track or produce the information

  • Are proficient and comfortable learning new software and systems

Preferred but not required:

  • QB Desktop familiarity

  • Real estate bookkeeping experience

  • Bilingual English/Spanish

 

 

This position can be part- or full-time (25–40 hours/week) at $20/hour, pay negotiable based on experience.  Benefits include paid time off, vision and dental insurance and a health stipend after 90 days.  Our office is located in the Emma community of west Asheville; this is not a remote position.
