Ana Soto

Ana started exploring bookkeeping as a career early in 2019. She graduated from NC State University with a Bachelors in Agribusiness Management. She is also a certified QuickBooks Online ProAdvisor and a Certified Nonprofit Accounting Professional. She joined Power in Numbers at the beginning of 2020, finding that the values and vision aligned with her personal goals of providing quality services to businesses from under-represented communities and nonprofits that promote social justice. In October of 2020, she became a member of Power in Numbers. Ana’s hobbies include reading sci-fi, fantasy, and graphic novels, watching anime fantasy mostly, spending too much time in front of a screen, and gardening favorite veggie is tomato.

Becky Brown

Born and raised in eastern Kentucky, Becky is a bookkeeper and popular educator who founded Power in Numbers Bookkeeping in 2018. She has an Accounting Certificate from Asheville Buncombe Technical and Community College and is a QuickBooks Online ProAdvisor. Becky has a thorough understanding of non-profit bookkeeping and has over 10 years of experience in nonprofit management as well as a Certificate in Nonprofit Management. She also holds a Master’s in Public Affairs. When not facilitating a workshop or reconciling accounts, Becky can be found weeding the garden, pruning apple trees, or hiking in the woods.

Johanna Ramirez Perez

Johanna joined Power in Numbers in June 2021 and became a member in May 2022. Since joining, she has gained lots of accounting and bookkeeping experience, and is now a QuickBooks Online ProAdvisor. Johanna holds a BA in Business and Organizational Leadership from Brevard College and an almost minor in Wilderness Leadership. She has a passion for business and enjoys all things data inputting, analyzing financial data, and taking data and making it mean something to clients. When Johanna is not at the office bookkeeping, she can be found hiking in Pisgah, watching movies, or hanging out with her dog, Daisy.

Virginia Perez Romero

Virginia Perez Romero is from Mexico and moved to the United States 20 years ago. She has three beautiful daughters named Monserrat, Johanna and Natalie who are the driving force in her life. She has lived in Asheville for 17 years. In 2020, Virginia joined the Sourwood housing cooperative, allowing her to own her very own home, have a stable living space, pursue her dreams and accomplish her goals. Also in 2020, she began working with Power in Numbers. Virginia brought her experience from previous jobs in management, budgeting and purchasing. “To me, becoming a member of PIN has been a great achievement. It has also meant having stable and fair employment. We are able to achieve our objectives thanks to the people who came up with this dream.”

Ari Moore

Ari, a native of Asheville, found her interest in bookkeeping during her studies in accounting at UNC Asheville. Ari plans to graduate in May 2024 and enroll in a Master of Public Affairs program the following fall. Ari is a senior senator at UNC Asheville, a member of Buncombe County’s Community Engagement Workgroup, and a member of Stop the Violence Asheville. Ari works to mitigate the disparities of wealth inequality in communities that are marginalized and increase representation in the field of accounting. On the weekends, Ari enjoys spending time with family and gardening.
